| Lions Roar February 2012 |
January Happenings:
- I would like to congratulate the following Lions who
are our newest recipients of the Melvin Jones Fellowship
Awards! Congratulations to Lion Frank Molinaro IV, Lion Dr.
Joe Bafile, Lion Rich Piskel, Lion Jim Warnagiris and Lion
Rich “Unc” Hudak. The presentation of these awards will be
made at our annual picnic.
- The club made $380 for our Christmas candy sales –
Thank You Lion Andy!
- Tickets were handed out for our Flapjack Fundraiser.
It will be held next month at Applebee’s on Saturday March
17th. The cost of tickets is $5 each. If interested in selling
tickets for this event, please contact me. Please hand in
your ticket money to Lion Tom no later than March’s board
meeting. Those of you volunteering please wear your Lion’s
t-shirts!
February Meetings:
Thursday February 9th: Our monthly board meeting
will be held at Jimmy’s starting at 6pm. We need to continue
discussing this year’s upcoming Night at the Races. We will
also be finalizing our plans for a bus trip to see the Iron Pigs
in June. Keep an eye for more details! A few other matters
of business will also be discussed. Remember all members
can attend board meetings!
Saturday February 18th: The American Cancer Society
Telethon will be held at the Laurel Mall. We will again be
answering the phones. Watch for us during 5pm-6pm!
Thursday February 23rd: Our monthly social meeting
will be held at Amore’s starting at 6:30pm. We will be
inducting our newest Lion’s club member, Stephanie
Petchel. I’m hoping for a nice turnout so we can show her
what Lions are all about!
