Lion President Rich has made history for the
Hazleton Lions Club. Lion President Rich is the
first Hazleton Lion to serve as President for three
terms. He has been a dedicated Lion since he first
joined in 1982. He has served on various
committees in the club and has held numerous
club and district positions. He is looking forward to
his reign as King Lion and he will do his best to
keep the Hazleton Lions Club in the forefront of
Lionism.

Our President
Some people are born to greatness, others have it thrust
upon them. Then there are some people who are like a deer
in the headlights. They can't get out of the way. My favorite
quote of all time is: "I would never be a member of a club that
would have me as a member." - Grocho Marx. Well
desperate times call for desperate measures and here we
back at the bottom of the barrel.. As you may recall my first
two years were very successful, raising money and growing
as a club. I followed a simple rule to surround myself with the
best people we had, and through God's good graces I have
that again. Great officers, secretary and board that only our
International Director wishes he had. I seek their knowledge
and wise advise to make my term as successful as my last. I
will keep my crazy sense of humor. Some people like it;
others don't. That's why they make chocolate and vanilla. I
have found two things in life hold true. (1) When a task, no
matter how great or small, with fun, laughter and good
friends, it's never work at all. ( I made that rhyme up myself
;-) ) (2) We are all here on earth but just a blink of an eye.
Don't take yourselves too serious. We are not getting out of
here alive. Smile, laugh and be proud of who you are-- THE
HAZLETON LIONS CLUB !!
